Al Janoub Stadium and Park

Al Wakrah municipality is home to Al Janoub Stadium, the first stadium to be constructed in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Al Janoub Stadium's design was influenced by ancient dhow boats because the region once had a rich history of pearl diving and fishing.

This 40,000-seat stadium's cutting-edge form was created by the late famed architect Zaha Hadid. The Amir Cup Final served as the stadium opening on May 16, 2019. On December 5, 2019, it served as the venue for a match during the knockout rounds of the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup, where Saudi Arabia faced Qatar in the semifinals.
