Tour Philippe le Bon

The Tour Philippe Le Bon is the most prominent structure on the grounds of the castle that was once home to the Dukes and States of Burgundy. 'Tour de la Terrasse' literally translates to 'tower of the terrace.'

Jean Poncelet, an architect, based in Lyon, was the one who was in charge of drawing up the drawings for the palace. It was constructed in the city's heart between 1450 and 1460 as a symbol of the control and magnificence held by the Dukes of Burgundy.
