Kuala Lumpur doesn’t need an introduction. The city is Malaysia’s beating heart. This skyscraper-laden city has the popular Petronas Twin Towers. But a trip to the city is not all about the skyscrapers, it’s so much more than that.
So let’s just dive into a different Kuala Lumpur or KL, shall we?
The Malaysia Cartoon and Comic House is an art museum, and as the name suggests – a total dig for comic aficionados!
Having opened on 1 April 2017 (incidentally also my birthday!), the house celebrates early pioneers, legends and artists from the creative community, starting from the early 1930s to the present. There is also a quaint cafe attached to the house which helps especially when you have to palate a large body of exciting comic art. So if you fancy yourself some ‘art time’, please let the Malaysia Cartoon & Comic House be on your list of stop-by places!
Entry Fee: The entry fee for an adult is RM10 and kid is RM5.

Located in Kuala Lumpur’s Central Market, the Precious Old China restaurant & bar offers an authentic local dining experience! The decor of Malaysian antiques and vintage Colonial furniture add to the taste of the Chinese-Malay cuisine mashup.
Their biggest star attraction is the Lemak Nenas Prawn replete with seafood and pineapple served in a laksa gravy. A must try! And while you’re waiting for that table to fill, don’t forget to savour their absolutely thirst-quenching iced lime juice served with sugar syrup on the side, added to your personal taste requirements!

KL Bird Park is an eco-tourism destination situated right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur at the serene and scenic Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens. It is home to more than 3,000 local and foreign birds of approximately 200 different species.

If you don’t mind a short hour’s worth of car drive from KL to Genting Highlands then i’d suggest you do that drive from KL to Genting! You can spend an entire day shopping at the Genting Highlands Premium Outlet – a sprawling outdoor shopping centre hosting top international luxury and street brand store outlets. Oh and they also have an outdoor food court surrounded by the lush views of the highland. Shopping here is quite an experience with the cool green atmosphere accompanying the “let’s buy this” urge!
And while you’re in Genting, don’t forget to take the Awana Skyway cable car ride to experience the green hills and vegetation below your feet as you reach the Genting Highlands Indoor Theme Park to spend the rest of your evening with cotton candy in your hands and a seat at the merry-go-round! And if you’re up for kicking it in your dancing shoes then head straight to Zouk – one of the most celebrated nightclub properties in Asia – now also located at Genting!
Situated in MyTOWN Shopping Centre, VAR LIVE is your playground if you get your highs with a 4D VR experience. VAR Live is a 4D video game arcade centre – the perfect place to immerse yourself into the virtual world to play a duel with friends or race with your partner.
You will find yourself totally enthralled as you fight together against monsters and ghosts and go on jewel-finding expeditions through ancient ruins. But beware, you can get lost in a reality that you may have a hard time getting off of!

OLFAC3 is a pretty perfume boutique founded by Aien Mokhtar who creates handcrafted and original perfumes inspired by places, people and experiences, using mostly natural and premium synthetic ingredients with Asian influences. Located at GMBB lounge in Bukit Bintang, I must say that her perfume sampling ritual compares to no other I have ever experienced. It was really difficult to decide which fragrances were my most favourite.
OLFAC3 collaborates with individuals and brands to create signature perfumes in addition to regularly hosting perfumery workshops led by Aien Mokhtar herself.
