G:Link - Gold Coast Light Rail

The Gold Coast Light Rail, commonly referred to as the G:Link, is a modern light rail network that serves the Gold Coast region of Queensland, Australia. It became operational on July 20, 2014, and is now vital to the city's public transportation system.

The G:Link light rail system connects Broadbeach in the south to Helensvale in the north along the Gold Coast over a distance of approximately 20 kilometers (12.4 miles).

The G:Link provides convenient access to some of the Gold Coast's most popular amusement facilities. Visitors can transfer to buses that will transport them directly to Movie World, Wet'n'Wild, and the Australian Outback Spectacular at the Helensvale station.

The G:Link light rail system utilizes an integrated ticketing system, so visitors can use the same go card (a reusable smart card) for both the light rail and regional buses. This makes traveling around the Gold Coast via multiple modes of public transportation without the need for distinct tickets more convenient.

The G:Link light rail system is designed to accommodate all riders. To aid individuals with disabilities or mobility issues, stations are outfitted with ramps, elevators, and tactile ground surface indicators. Trams are also wheelchair-friendly, with designated wheelchair spaces.
