4.4The Shivpuri National Park can be found north of the Kathmandu valley. It is located just beyond the point at which the noise and activity of the urban world begin to dissipate and where the imaginary lines of the city begin to blur into the outskirts. Even if it's just for a day, you get to escape the noise and stress of urban living and the pressures of everyday life and give your mind, body, and spirit a chance to recuperate.

In the past, Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park served only as a water catchment region; however, it has since evolved into a comprehensive forest reserve home to a vast range of plants and animals that contribute to the park's unique ecosystem. It covers an area of around 160 square meters and extends into the districts of Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Sindhupalchowk.
